Hi, I’m Paulo, your local photographer in Tokyo.

Originally from the Philippines, I’ve been living in Tokyo since 2007 and photographing the city for over a decade. I began my photography journey with landscapes, which helped me develop a strong sense of composition, light, and storytelling. Over time, my focus naturally shifted toward portraits and street photography, capturing real moments and everyday life as it unfolds in the city.

In 2019, I won a landscape photography contest, an experience that further shaped my visual approach and attention to detail. Today, I’m most passionate about candid photography, photographing people moving through Tokyo, natural expressions, and the quiet beauty found in ordinary moments.

Alongside photography, I’ve been teaching English in Japan for more than ten years. Working with people from many different backgrounds has helped me create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during every photoshoot. I enjoy conversation, connection, and making sure the experience feels easygoing rather than rushed or overly posed.

I love walking through Tokyo’s hidden streets and local neighborhoods, discovering places that many visitors might miss. For me, a photoshoot feels like a photo walk, where exploration and storytelling come together naturally.
