Shibuya Photoshoot with a Local Photographer
Step into the crossing, explore the side streets, and let a local photographer capture your time in Shibuya. Private photoshoots with glowing city backdrops, natural portraits, and guidance throughout.
Shibuya Photoshoots
Shibuya has a way of making you want to be in the photograph. The crossing fills, the screens light up, and a few streets away the city becomes a backdrop of small shopfronts and lanterns. There is plenty to work with, but getting a good portrait here takes more than finding the right street.
A local Shibuya photographer knows how to work with the movement around you: where to stand, when to wait, and which angle keeps you at the centre of the picture. You do not need modelling experience or a list of poses. Your photographer guides you throughout, with room for spontaneous moments between the stops.
Whether you want relaxed daytime portraits or an evening street photoshoot, your session is private and shaped around your photographer’s style and your preferences. Compare portfolios, prices, session lengths, and photo counts before choosing the experience that fits your trip.

Why Book a Shibuya Photographer with Photo Trips
Shibuya gives you the energy, colour, and movement. Your photographer helps bring them together in photographs that feel like you.
One neighbourhood, different backdrops
The crossing, shopping streets, lanterns, and modern architecture each bring a different look to your photos. Your photographer chooses suitable spots within Shibuya so your gallery has variety without spending the session travelling across Tokyo.
Timing that makes a difference
Daylight, dusk, and the glow of the signs create very different photographs. Your photographer knows how to work with the changing light and crowds, helping you make the most of the time you have booked.
No maps, no guesswork
Meet your photographer at the agreed spot and let them guide you from there. They handle the walk between locations and give clear direction on where to stand, how to move, and what to do in front of the camera.

What Travelers Say About Their Tokyo Photoshoots

Incredible photoshoot especially if you don't know how to pose. Kevin will always give you good tips. We went to nice hidden spots around Shinjuku and Shibuya and they were amazing for neon lights shoots.
Urban & Neon Night Photoshoot in Tokyo with a Pro Photographer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely incredible experience! 🥹❤️ This was my very first solo trip, and also my first time visiting Japan, so I was a little nervous. From the very beginning, Jasmine made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. She is incredibly kind, patient, supportive, and always willing to help. Thanks to her, I had such an unforgettable experience! The photos are absolutely stunning and perfectly capture the unique atmosphere of Tokyo. If you’re looking for a photoshoot with a true street, neon city vibe, don’t hesitate—go ahead and book it! 😉✨ One little heads-up though: be prepared to run through the streets of Tokyo 🤣🏃♀️, but it’s all part of the adventure, and the final results are more than worth it! Thank you again, Jasmine, for this magical experience. These are memories I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. 🫶🇯🇵📸
Crazy Tokyo Neon Nights – Street Photoshoot in Shibuya or ShinjukuThis was one of the best experiences I have had while traveling. Not only were the photos absolutely fantastic, Mehdi is such a sweetheart and made me feel so safe and confident while walking around the huge city of Tokyo. I cannot recommend him enough.
Epic Street Photoshoot Experience at Tokyo Most Iconic LocationsJasmine was awesome! From the time I booked, she contacted me right away and started preparing me for our shoot. My trip was still two months away so by the time I arrived and met her, I felt like we already knew each other. It made it a lot easier to be comfortable right way. She also helped me with posing and was great with directing me throughout the shoot until I finally stopped being camera shy and let loose lol. Overall, an amazing experience and will recommend her to anyone who tells me they plan on visiting Tokyo! 10 out of 10! Thank you, Jasmine!
Crazy Tokyo Neon Nights – Street Photoshoot in Shibuya or ShinjukuThis experience was truly incredible! Mehdi is a phenomenal photographer. He made me feel comfortable in front of the camera and knew all the best spots to stop by. He gave me great insights into the history and culture of the city as we went along, so I feel like I got a tour guide and photographer, all-in-one! My pictures turned out AMAZING! The hardest part was narrowing down which pictures I wanted because there were THOUSANDS of incredible ones to choose from. I can’t recommend this company enough!
Epic Street Photoshoot Experience at Tokyo Most Iconic LocationsJasmine photographed our family (2 adults & 1 child) and she was great to work with. She had great communication with me beforehand to figure out our preferences and quick turnaround for our photos afterwards. During our photoshoot she was also checking in with us to see if there was anything we wanted to be photographed with along our route. Would recommend!

Where to shoot
Best Photo Spots in Shibuya for Your Photoshoot
Shibuya offers several different looks within walking distance. These four places offer inspiration for your session; your photographer chooses the stops around your preferences, the light, and conditions on the day.

Iconic Shibuya
Shibuya Crossing
The striped crossing, giant screens, and movement of the crowd make this an unmistakable Shibuya backdrop. It works for both daytime street portraits and evening photographs surrounded by light. Your photographer guides you through the timing and positioning, capturing the atmosphere while keeping the crossing moving.

Street Photography
Shibuya Center-gai
Packed with shopfronts, signs, and people passing through, Center-gai brings Shibuya’s street energy into the frame. It suits walking shots, casual portraits, and outfits with a little personality. In the evening, the illuminated signs add colour and depth, giving your photographer plenty of backgrounds to work with.

Lanterns & Colour
Shibuya Yokocho
Colourful signs, lanterns, and restaurant fronts give Shibuya Yokocho a lively backdrop with a different feel from the crossing. It is a good inspiration for warm evening portraits and playful street photographs. Your photographer can suggest suitable angles around the area while respecting the restaurants, their guests, and any photography restrictions.

Old Tokyo Atmosphere
Nonbei Yokocho
Close to Shibuya Station, Nonbei Yokocho brings the neighbourhood down to a smaller scale: narrow lanes, tiny bars, and lanterns instead of giant screens. Its intimate atmosphere can add a quieter-looking frame to an evening gallery. Photography here needs to respect the small businesses and their customers, with stops chosen wherever shooting is permitted and space allows.
Frequently Asked Questions About Shibuya Photoshoots
Planning your session around the crossing, the crowds, or the evening lights? Here is what to expect from a photoshoot in Shibuya.
Can we take photos at Shibuya Crossing?
Yes. Your photographer will guide you on when to cross, where to position yourself, and when to return for another shot.
You will only enter while the pedestrian signal is green, keep moving with the crossing, and reach the pavement before the signal changes. Follow your photographer’s guidance and stay aware of the people around you.
Is daytime or evening better for a Shibuya photoshoot?
Both work well, depending on the look you want. Daytime is great for natural portraits, street fashion, and capturing the neighbourhood’s everyday energy. Early evening is our favourite for Shibuya: the signs begin to glow while there is still some light in the sky. After dark, the city lights become a stronger part of the photographs.
How do you handle the crowds during a Shibuya photoshoot?
Your photographer guides you on where to stand and when to move into a spot. Sometimes that means waiting briefly for a gap; at other times, the movement around you becomes part of the photograph.
By choosing the angle, focus, and camera settings carefully, they keep you as the main subject. People may still appear in the background, often softened or blurred depending on the shot.
How many photo spots can we cover during the session?
Photographers usually cover at least five spots, although the exact number depends on the session length, crowds, and time spent at each stop. These might be different streets, corners, or backgrounds rather than five separate landmarks. Every photographer has favourite places, so there is no single fixed route for all Shibuya photoshoots.
Can I request a particular photo spot in Shibuya?
Yes. If you have seen a location or a photograph you love, share it with your photographer before the session. They can discuss whether it fits the booked time, the other stops, and any access restrictions. You are welcome to bring ideas, even if you would also like the photographer to suggest their favourite places.
Where do we meet the photographer in Shibuya?
Your photographer will send you a clear meeting point before the session, usually near Shibuya Station. Follow the exact location they provide rather than choosing a station exit yourself, as the station and surrounding streets can be confusing on a first visit.
How much walking is involved?
A Shibuya photoshoot is a mix of walking and stopping for photographs. The spots are within walking distance, and you move between them throughout the session rather than completing one long walk before shooting. Comfortable shoes help. If you would prefer less walking, let your photographer know beforehand so they can discuss suitable options.
What happens if it rains in Shibuya?
Light rain can work beautifully with Shibuya’s illuminated signs and reflections on the streets. We recommend bringing a clear umbrella, which keeps your face visible and can become part of the photographs. If heavy rain is expected, you can reschedule or receive a full refund if rescheduling is not possible.
Can we combine Shibuya and Shinjuku in one booking?
Yes, it can be possible, but covering both areas comfortably usually requires more than one hour because of the travel between them. Send us a custom photoshoot request with the locations and style you have in mind. We’ll explain what is possible and recommend a session length and price before you book.
