Photographers in Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji is never quite the same twice. On a clear day, it sits above Lake Kawaguchiko like a painting. From Chureito Pagoda, it is framed by the city below. At Tenku no Torii, the mountain appears beyond the gate; in Yamanakako Hana no Miyako Park, it rises above the fields. Each place gives you a different view, and the weather can change the whole plan in an hour.
That is why photoshoots here need a little more planning. The best location is not always the closest one, and a famous view is not always clear. Your photographer will help choose a route that makes sense for the conditions, the season and the kind of photos you want. They will also give you simple direction throughout, so you can enjoy the day instead of worrying about where to stand or what to do.
Sessions are ideal for proposals, couples, families and anyone who wants a proper record of a Mount Fuji day. Price, length and photo count are all visible before you book, the session is yours alone, and your edited gallery arrives within a few days.

Why Book a Photographer in Mount Fuji with Photo Trips
One mountain, many backdrops
Lake views, a pagoda, a torii gate and open flower fields can all give you a completely different photo. Your photographer can help choose the location that fits the look you want and the time you have.
Timing is everything here
Mount Fuji can be clear at the start of the day and hidden by clouds a few hours later. Your photographer builds the plan around the forecast, the season and when you have the best chance of seeing the mountain.
No maps, no guesswork
The Mount Fuji area is spread out, and the best viewpoints are not always obvious from a map. You meet at the agreed location and your photographer handles the route, timing and photo stops for the rest of the session.
Photos worth sharing
Every image is professionally edited and delivered at full resolution, ready to post the moment they land. No filters needed, no apologising for the lighting.
Carefully selected photographers
Everyone shooting at Mount Fuji through Photo Trips is reviewed before they join, and each profile carries real ratings and traveller feedback so you know exactly what you are booking.
Built around your occasion
A proposal with Mount Fuji behind you, a couple session by the lake, a family trip or a solo portrait session. Tell us the occasion and there is someone here who shoots it regularly.

What Travelers Say About Their Mount Fuji Photoshoots
Real stories from real trips, captured by local photographers.
Jayson was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. He was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our conversations leading up to my proposal. On the day of the proposal when we were running an hour late he was super flexible and stayed well past our originally planned time. We could not be happier with our experience and our pictures, and would definitely recommend Jayson to anyone wanting the perfect pictures around Mt. Fuji.
Magical Proposal Photoshoot At Mount Fuji With Private PhotographerI was nervous about booking a photographer online (that I’ve never met) but Jayson was truly amazing. He was super knowledgeable about the area around Fuji and helped me plan the perfect proposal. He also saved me the morning of the proposal when I couldn’t find a car to take me to the proposal spot. You will not regret working with Jayson!
Magical Proposal Photoshoot At Mount Fuji With Private PhotographerJayson is an amazing photographer and new found friend. His vision and ability to capture the essence of the moment made our special occasion that much more meaningful. He gave clear instructions on where to meet up, and on the day itself for posing. Will recommend to any other friends looking to travel to Japan for a shoot.
Magical Proposal Photoshoot At Mount Fuji With Private PhotographerAbsolutely amazing and truly breathtaking work. We were so moved by the video—it beautifully captured every meaningful moment. Thank you so much, Jayson. We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with you. From the very beginning, he was patient, thoughtful, and highly professional, guiding us through the planning process with great care and attention to detail. The final result exceeded all our expectations. It truly meant a lot to have Jayson as our photographer, and we couldn’t recommend him more highly.
Magical Proposal Photoshoot At Mount Fuji With Private PhotographerJason was absolutely amazing, he was great with good and clear communication – he helped offer suggestions for locations and insight of each area I was considering. He went above and beyond by staking out the area before the proposal and messaging me alternative locations he spotted in the area when Mt. Fuji went behind the clouds which resulted in a gorgeous pink cherry blossom background to our big moment. Could not recommend more!
Magical Proposal Photoshoot At Mount Fuji With Private PhotographerJason is a hero! There was a storm on the day of the engagement, which made us arrive quite late. Jason waited for us without rushing us, he even scouted for the best spot and took tons of photos with the time we had left, and they were spectacular. I highly recommend him. Thank you, Jason; you made our special day even more memorable.

These viewpoints each show a different side of Mount Fuji. Your photographer will help you choose one that works with the conditions on the day.

Kawaguchiko
Lake Kawaguchiko
Lake Kawaguchiko gives you one of the classic Mount Fuji views. On a clear day, the mountain can reflect in the water, while the paths around the lake give you space to move and a few different backgrounds within the same area.

Fujiyoshida
Chureito Pagoda
Chureito Pagoda puts a traditional Japanese landmark in the foreground with Mount Fuji beyond it. The viewpoint is especially popular in cherry blossom season, but it works at any time of year when the mountain is visible.

Kawaguchiko
Tenku no Torii
Set above the lake, Tenku no Torii frames Mount Fuji through a torii gate. It is a simple but striking view, and a good choice if you want a photo that feels more connected to the landscape and Japanese tradition.

Yamanaka
Yamanakako Hana no Miyako Park
This park gives you open views of Mount Fuji with seasonal flowers in the foreground. It is a good option for families, couples and anyone who wants more space around them in the photos.
Frequently Asked Questions about Photoshoots in Mount Fuji
Have questions about booking a Mount Fuji photographer? Here are quick answers to help you plan your photoshoot with confidence.
Are Mount Fuji photoshoots private?
Yes. Every Mount Fuji photoshoot is a private session for you and your group only. You won’t share your time with other travelers.
Can I check availability in real time?
Yes. Each Mount Fuji photoshoot page includes a live calendar updated in real time. You can instantly see available dates and secure your session with immediate confirmation.
What if Mount Fuji is not visible on the day of my shoot?
Mount Fuji’s visibility depends on the weather and can change quickly. If the mountain is fully hidden, we will first try to reschedule your session, subject to photographer availability. If rescheduling is not possible, the shoot can still go ahead at the chosen location, focusing on the lake, pagoda, torii gate or surrounding scenery.
When is the best time for a photoshoot in Mount Fuji?
Clear views are more common earlier in the day, before clouds start to build around the mountain. Each season also changes the look of the area: cherry blossoms in spring, green landscapes in summer, autumn colour and crisp winter days. Your photographer can help you choose a time that fits the kind of photos you want.
Is transportation from Tokyo included?
Transportation from Tokyo is not included by default. Some photoshoots have transportation add-ons that you can choose when booking. Check the experience page for the available options, or send us a custom request if you need help planning transport.
How much travel time should I allow from Tokyo?
Allow plenty of time. The Mount Fuji region is outside central Tokyo, and travel times can vary depending on your meeting point, route and traffic. Your booking confirmation will include the exact meeting location, and we recommend arriving with time to spare.
How far in advance should I book for cherry blossom season?
Cherry blossom season around Mount Fuji is one of the most popular times to visit. We recommend booking two to three months ahead, especially if you want a photographer, time or viewpoint with Mount Fuji and the blossoms in the same frame.
What should I wear for a photoshoot at Mount Fuji?
Dress for the weather, not just the photos. It can feel cooler and windier near the lakes and viewpoints than it does in Tokyo, so bring layers you can put on or take off between photos. Comfortable shoes are important too, as some locations involve uneven paths, steps or walking between viewpoints.
What happens if it rains in Mount Fuji?
Light rain can still work for photos, especially with the lake, greenery and a clear umbrella. If heavy rain or severe weather prevents the shoot and rescheduling is not possible, you’ll receive a full refund.
Do Mount Fuji photographers speak English?
Yes. All our Mount Fuji photographers speak English and are experienced in working with international travelers.
Can I choose the photoshoot location?
Yes. Mount Fuji photoshoots are not tied to one exact location in advance. If you have a specific place near Mount Fuji in mind, let your photographer know after booking. If not, they can recommend the best location based on the weather, season, your travel plans and the kind of photos you want.
I’m camera shy. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most travelers aren’t models. Your photographer will guide you naturally and help you feel comfortable throughout the session.
Can I change outfits during my session?
Yes, as long as the change fits inside your booked time. Let your photographer know in advance so they can plan the route and suggest the easiest place to change.
How long does it take to receive my photos?
Delivery times vary slightly by photographer, but most Mount Fuji sessions are delivered within a few days. You’ll receive high-resolution edited images via a download link.
Can I book a custom photoshoot in Mount Fuji?
Yes. If you’re planning something unique, such as a proposal, a special outfit session or a specific neighbourhood request, you can submit a custom request and receive a personalized quote.
What if I need to reschedule?
You can reschedule your Mount Fuji photoshoot as long as your photographer is available on the new date. If you cancel at least 48 hours before the session, you’ll receive a full refund.
