Hi, I’m Jack, a professional photographer based in the heart of Seoul.
Originally from Canada, I’ve been living in Korea for the past six years and working as a photographer for over a decade. I now run my own portrait studio in Seoul, where I focus on creating images that feel natural, cinematic, and timeless.
After years of exploring the city, I know Seoul well beyond the typical tourist routes. I love taking travelers to quiet alleys, hidden neighborhoods, and scenic spots that are often overlooked but incredibly photogenic. These locations help create photos that feel personal and authentic, rather than staged or generic.
I work with solo travelers, couples, and families, and I place a strong emphasis on making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. You don’t need to worry about posing or what to do. I’ll guide you naturally throughout the session so everything feels easy and relaxed.
My editing style is inspired by classic film stocks such as Kodachrome, Cinestill, and Portra 400. This gives your photos a vivid, cinematic, and slightly nostalgic look, similar to stills from a movie or a K-drama, and helps your images stand out in a unique way.
As a native English speaker, communication is simple, and I’m always happy to share local tips, favorite cafés, and restaurant recommendations along the way. We had a photoshoot earlier this week for our anniversary and I couldn’t recommend this enough. Jack was wonderful, he put us at ease and is clearly a skilled photographer. He knows the city well and took us to some beautiful spots. Seoul has been somewhere we have always wanted to visit and this is the perfect way to remember our holiday. The booking process was simple and throughout Jack has been easy to communicate with and super friendly. We love these photos!!!

I found Jack on Photo Trips when researching photo shoots in Hanbok for tourists. They have a soft, grey, classic look that drew me in. Jack was very responsive via Instagram and he was thorough in sharing suggestions for what worked best for others in the past (the best hanbok shop, what time to get there in order to be ready in time, etc). The photo shoot itself was great. I elected to get an extra hour for extra shots and I'm so glad I did. The palace was busy in all the popular spaces, but Jack knew a few special spots to get the best shots. He was also open to trying a few new things when I asked. Overall, my experience was wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to do this again for any experience in Seoul. If you're on the fence, DO IT. You won't regret it.
