Hi, I’m Laurence, a street photographer based in Tokyo.

I discovered my passion for photography after moving from the UK to Tokyo in 2009. Immersed in the city’s dynamic and eccentric culture, I naturally gravitated toward street photography as a way to explore its energy, rhythm, and visual contrasts.

My work often blends people and architecture, with a strong preference for monochrome imagery and occasional use of color to capture Tokyo’s cinematic night scenes. Many of my photographs are inspired by the city after dark, where neon lights, shadows, and movement create atmospheres reminiscent of futuristic film worlds.

Over the years, my style has gained international recognition. I’ve been featured in Apple’s global iPhone 7 campaign and have received multiple awards, including first place in the Street category of the Mobile Photography Awards in 2017 and 2018, the Flickr x Fujifilm competition in 2020, and the Mobiography Awards in 2021. My work has also been exhibited internationally.

During our photoshoot, my goal is to capture striking, authentic images that feel natural and expressive while blending you into the urban environment.
