I had such an incredible photoshoot with Jerry in Kyoto! From the start, he was super creative, full of cool pose ideas and had picked out some truly stunning locations. At first, I was a bit hesitant about wearing a kimono as a European.. I was worried I might look silly. But honestly, I’m so glad I took Jerry’s advice and went with his recommended kimono shop. The kimono was high-quality, my hairstyle was beautifully done and the ladies at the shop were so sweet and welcoming. The whole experience was just amazing! The shoot itself was so much fun. We took beautiful cherry blossom photos and explored Kyoto from so many different angles: portraits, full-body.. Jerry knows all these hidden spots that regular tourists would never find and he even brought some cool accessories to add variety. I’m super happy with how everything turned out. The photos are stunning and the experience was absolutely unforgettable. If you’re looking for a unique and professional photoshoot in Kyoto, Jerry is 100% the person to go to!

Hi, I’m Jerry, your local photographer in Kyoto.
I have over five years of experience as a photographer, and I spend much of my time walking through Kyoto with my camera, capturing the quiet beauty of the city and the people who pass through it. I specialize in portraits for travelers, particularly kimono photoshoots, where tradition, atmosphere, and emotion come together naturally.
My approach goes beyond simple portraits. I enjoy telling stories through images by capturing the bonds between people, the connection between travelers and the city, and the unique rhythm of life in Kyoto’s historic streets. Alongside portraits, I also love photographing Kyoto’s landscapes, temples, and hidden corners that give the city its timeless character.
I’ve lived in the Kansai area for around 11 years and have explored many regions of Japan, learning about local history, culture, and everyday life along the way. This experience allows me to guide you with a deeper understanding of the places we visit and help you feel more connected to Japanese culture during your photoshoot.
