We’ll explore a carefully planned route that includes some of the area’s most iconic locations as well as quieter streets that many visitors overlook. Along the way, you’ll experience places such as shrine grounds, peaceful parks, colorful spiritual landmarks, hidden alleys, and classic temple views that define Kyoto’s historic charm.
The itinerary follows a natural walking flow through Higashiyama, but it remains flexible. If there’s a specific spot you’d like to include or a particular photo you have in mind, just let me know and we can adjust the route to match your preferences.
The experience is relaxed and suitable for all types of travelers, including solo visitors, couples, and families. You don’t need any experience in front of the camera. I’ll guide you gently throughout the session so you feel comfortable and confident, focusing on natural moments rather than stiff poses.
Wearing a kimono is optional but highly recommended to match the traditional setting. Kimono rental is not included, but after booking I can recommend trusted rental shops in Higashiyama that offer beautiful selections at reasonable prices.
The photoshoot typically finishes near a well-known Kyoto-style café, making it easy for you to relax and enjoy the area afterward.

I had the opportunity to visit Kyoto on my recent visit to Japan. And I was able to do a photo session with Mina. He was very patient, fun and gave good tips on how to pose. I was traveling solo and wanted to have nice souvenir photos taken since I’d only been able to take cheesy selfies and scenery photos. Mina was very friendly and gave me some good travel tips. The weather was not pleasant for me but in the photos you can’t tell that I was cranky and sweating under the yukata and that my feet hurt (lol). We took photos at a beautiful shrine, and in locations I never would’ve found by myself. I shared the photoshoot with another solo traveler so I got to take a short break whenever it was her turn for photos. I ended up having a nice talk with her afterwards and we exchanged social media information. Anyway, the photoshoot was affordable and fun because I didn’t have to think of my own poses since I’m so awkward. It was a fun experience and I would probably book one again

Mina was awesome!! He took us to hidden gems in Kyoto that had not been on my travel itinerary and I absolutely loved all the sites!! He is very professional, takes his time to make sure you like the photos. He showed us some of the shots during the session to make sure we were ok with how the photos were turning out and adjust our poses/facial expressions accordingly. I ended up loving a lot of my photos that I had so many options to choose from!! 10/10 would recommend!!
